Why Parent Training Matters
Parent training helps caregivers support progress outside of therapy sessions and apply strategies in everyday situations. This includes modeling strategies, observing caregiver practice, and providing coaching and feedback.

What We Cover
Parents learn how to respond consistently to challenging behaviors and encourage appropriate communication. Parent Training includes:
- Reviewing the treatment plan with caregivers
- Modeling effective strategies
- Observing parents implement techniques
- Providing coaching and feedback
Generalization at Home
Parent training supports generalization so skills learned in therapy transfer to real-life situations at home and in the community. Example focus areas:
- Teaching appropriate communication instead of problem behaviors
- Supporting skill generalization in everyday situations
- Responding to challenging behavior consistently
The goal is to help parents feel confident and equipped to support their child’s growth.
