What Happens During Initial Assessment
The BCBA conducts an assessment to understand the child’s current skills, behavior patterns, and areas for growth. The following are assessed:
- Play skills and flexibility
- Communication skills (verbal or alternative communication)
- Social skills and peer interaction
- Daily living skills (toileting, hygiene, routines)


What We Evaluate
Assessments review communication, social skills, daily living skills, play skills, and challenging behaviors.
Information is gathered through direct observation, skill probes, testing, and parent interviews.
How Goals are Created
The information collected during the assessment is used to create a treatment plan focused on reducing challenging behaviors and building functional, independent skills. This information is used to create a treatment plan with clear goals focused on:
- Reducing challenging behaviors
- Building functional, independent skills
